Corsham Court

Bath Spa University has their graduate classes at Corsham Court, a very lovely country estate house home to Lord Methuen and his family. It also houses some very valuable art, so it is open to the public to come and see, as well as to tour its extensive grounds. It does feel a little like Downton Abbey, without all the drama. Yesterday was our second day of meeting, and during our lunch break we decided to wander around the gardens and visit the Georgian Bath house. Apparently its been rather untouched since the 1700's, which also happens to be the period from which we are reading currently; Alexander Pope and Daniel Defoe. Yesterday was also a beautifully sunny day, although the temperature took a significant drop. The pictures I took in the garden couldn't quite capture how stunning the sunlight was through the trees, but you'll get an idea. It is now coat weather, and the sunshine left us today. But fickle English weather is typical, so you never know what could happen next.

This is the church right near Corsham Court.

It was barely 10am and look how low the sun is still!

This is the magically grown hedge for the Triwizard Tournament in Harry Potter.

I have my wand and I'm ready to compete...

This is the Georgian bath house.

I found a chestnut!

Anyone want to join me?

A beautiful tree.

This garden is absolutely beautiful.

The sun was bright but not very warm.

So green!
